Kuran-ı Kerim

Holy Quran is the only bridge to communicate with our Lord Almighty. This short life is actually a game and a test to determine our level of rank in the sight of our Creator. Whoever accepts Allah (swt) as friend and holds firmly to His Book (Al-A`raf 170) will receive glad news both in this life and in the life hereafter. (Jonah 64) In short the good of this world and the hereafter can only be possible if we are guided by Holy Quran.

Just like a father, sharing his experiences and knowledge to guide his children, our Lord Almighty also wishes to guide us to live a safe and good life in this world. Whoever turns away from the guidance of God Almighty will definitely suffer in this world and unfortunately go to the hell fire in the hereafter.

Let’s think; if a driver wishes to drive his car off the cliff, what power is there to stop him. Our Lord Almighty is Al-`Adl (?????) which means He is the Utterly Just. That is why He leaves us to choose between right and wrong by ourselves. It is up to us to obey the rules of Allah (swt) and all our prayers and actions are left free to our will.

Holy Quran directs us to the best path; where as televisions, newspapers and all other forms of media today is coordinating us all to go out of the right path. Just like feeding our bodies with food and water, we must also feed our souls with the knowledge of Holy Quran, everyday in order to keep up.

Reading Holy Quran with understanding will increase our faith (iman) step by step. Eventually we will develop the knowledge to understand what is right and what is wrong. Our Lord Almighty’s advices will constantly come to our mind and this will help us through our everyday life.

So what is the measure to read Holy Quran’s translation? The real measure is left to one’s own desire. “…Recite, then, of the Qur'an that which is easy for you…” (Al-Muzammil 20). However our advice would be the advice that our Prophet (puh) suggested in a hadith narrated by Muslim’s Ibn Amr radıyallahu anh (Book 6, Hadith No 2588) Our Prophet (puh) directs a man to recite the Holy Quran during every month. This would be to read the first Juz on the first day of the month and to read the 19th Juz on the 19th day of that month.
